Group Talks for Autumn and Winter 2017-2018
We are now taking bookings for our popular group talks. 'Lavender, the Forgotten Herb' takes you back through history as to how lavender was used by the Romans when it came to our country and how the herb is used now. Plus Carole and Barry's experience of planting a lavender field and on the Mendip Hills. This is a popular talk for groups and societies with a question and answer session at the end. We also bring our mini shop with our lotions, potions and culinary produce. The cost for us to attend your local group is £45. To book a talk call Carole Hamblin on 01934 733939 or email here.
Organise a summer day out to Lavender & Co in 2018 and go onto to explore the Mendip Hills in Somerset, the medieval town of Axbridge, Cheddar's famous Gorge and Caves, the medieval city of Wells, Wookey Hole, the world famous Glastonbury, the beauty of the Somerset Levels and Clarks Village in Street. Our lavender field on the Axbridge by Pass (A371 Cheddar to Wells Road) has the added attraction of some great traditional pubs and restaurants nearby on the Square in Axbridge. We will be opening again in the late spring and summer of 2018.
When the field is open, visitors are welcome to walk around the field or can just sit and enjoy the view and the peace, perfume and tranquility of the field. There is a shop and cafe for light refreshments. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome. Free admission and parking.
Access for Wheelchairs: We have a cafe and harding standing area which has unrestricted views of the field and is suitable for wheelchairs. The top part of the lavender field is up a gentle slope which may not be a suitable for visitors with restricted mobility. The shop by the cafe area has one small step. We''ll do our best to help so please contact us before arrival if you need any assistance.
During the season we offer the option of a guided walk of the single estate lavender field to see the fifteen types of lavender we grow and how we use them.
